The understanding of quality and of the needs that non-formal education wants to address, forms the basis for the proposed Quality Assurance Framework. The framework is an agreement between all stakeholders in the NFE field on how quality assurance in the non-formal education field will be organised.
The main aim of the network is to increase the quality of non-formal education in Europe and to increase the recognition of this quality. The first aim will be tackled by developing expertise and capacity building of non-formal education providers. The second aim however, means that quality is not just an improvement process but also a perception by other actors as well as a judgement of other actors.
It contributes to the fulfilment of the obligations, as outlined in the Common Principles on the recognition of non-formal education adopted by the EU Council, for non-formal education stakeholders to build confidence and trust through transparent quality management processes
The network has two types of members:
NFE providers and Stakeholders who are representing different views on the needs of society and learners.
