The NFE-QA Network

The Non-Formal Education Quality Assurance Network aims to increase the quality of Non-Formal Education in Europe and increase the recognition of this quality. The network works on three strands: expertise, capacity building and policy. The network supports the members in assuring the quality of their education and to increase the understanding of it by other actors in society. The network is run in its start up phase by the European Youth Forum.

Capacity Building Actions

The network works on capacity building of the members and runs the quality assurance process that members can sign up for. If members consistently use the quality assurance scheme in their non-formal education programmes and are positively reviewed by their peers, they can receive the label : Provider of Quality NFE. The network will develop the label by 2013.

Expertise Centre

The network has two types of members: providers of Non-Formal Education and Education Stakeholders (institutions, other education providers, parents, etc). The members go through the quality assurance procedure and report on it to the stakeholders to develop a common understanding of Non-Formal Education and to build trust in the quality of NFE.

Towards a European Framework on NFE-QA

The European Youth Forum is facilitating the political process towards an agreement on how to organise quality assurance of Non-Formal Education on European level. Together with institutions and partners, we aim to have an official agreement in the form of a European Framework on Quality in Non-Formal Education.
